Russia’s traditional season of sudden bangs, thick smoke and urgent statements that “the situation is under control” continues. This time, problems have been reported at oil refineries and logistics facilities, including warehouses linked to the Wildberries marketplace.
Following drone attacks on several Russian oil refineries, fires broke out and some production facilities had to be temporarily shut down. Apparently, the promised stability has finally arrived — it is just now regularly accompanied by a fiery glow above industrial sites.
Wildberries was not spared either. Fires and damage to warehouse infrastructure have been reported in several regions of Russia. As a result, some orders may be delayed: the goods are apparently going through an additional delivery stage called “try to find the warehouse”.
The Ukrainian side says the strikes are targeting facilities that supply the Russian army with fuel, resources and logistics support. Russia, of course, continues to deny the military significance of the affected sites — because according to the official version, petroleum products and enormous warehouses apparently exist solely for the peaceful delivery of socks and smartphone cases.
The exact extent of the damage is still being assessed. However, one thing is already clear: Russia’s oil refining and logistics sectors are once again operating in their popular mode — first loudly, then brightly, and after that temporarily not at all.
